A Retail company launches a new website that more than doubles their sales.

A mid-size merchandising company was already successful and profitable. However, management believed (quite correctly) that potential demand far exceeded what was currently being supplied. We were called in to identify and capitalize on the market.

This company had a website that was functional but dated. They still took many orders over the phone. The customer base was very local, while a national (or perhaps global) audience could potentially be served. Fulfillment was centralized but the order-taking process was not, so accounting and shipping errors were common. Because so much of the leadership team’s attention was consumed by putting out fires, new opportunities were not being explored.

We revamped the website, adding a new look, state of the art e-commerce features, and better inventory tracking. We streamlined the order process, and even phone orders would now be entered via the website. This alone greatly simplified both fulfillment and accounting. Finally, we came up with a new marketing campaign that included online channels and public events.

The following year’s results included doubled sales, far greater brand awareness, and a regional rather than a local reach.
